Β Language: Delivery is primarily Sinhala (ΰ·ΰ·ΰΆΰ·ΰΆ½)Β with technical terms in English when appropriate. Β Labs & VPN Access Our labs replicate real enterprise topologies so you learn by doing. Β How youβll access the labs Β Receive credentials: Before the course begins, youβll get an email with your LMS login, VPN username/password (or OTP), and lab access guide. Install Sophos Connect Client VPN (SSL): We provide a short guide to install Sophos Connect Client and add the preβshared portal/server address. Connect to the lab network: Sign in to the VPN. A successful connection shows an active tunnel icon. Open the jump host / devices: Jump Host (Windows/RDP) or direct HTTPS/SSH to FortiGate. Youβll also access auxiliary services (DNS, web) as the exercise requires. Do the labs: Follow the task list (config firewall policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, IPS/URL filtering, SDβWAN basics, logging, backups, upgrades, etc.). Save & snapshot: Export configs/backups as instructed. Some labs autoβreset to a clean state. Β Lab etiquette & policies Donβt change management IPs/passwords outside the task scope. No Internet scanning, cryptoβmining, or unrelated traffic. Use only the IP ranges and tools provided; respect other studentsβ pods. Maintenance windows may occur; any downtime will be announced in the LMS. Β Troubleshooting quick wins If VPN wonβt connect: verify credentials, time sync, try wired connection, or switch ISP if possible. Canβt reach devices: check VPN is up, confirm correct VLAN/pod, test with ping/tracert, then post details in the LMS. Β LMS Access (Portal) Your LMS account contains: class calendar, Zoom links, recordings, slides, lab guides, quizzes, and announcements. Mobile friendly: You can view content on mobile; use a laptop/desktop for handsβon labs. Discussion: Ask questions, attach screenshots, and learn from peers. Β Zoom Live Classes Join from the LMS calendar or the reminder email. Keep your mic muted unless speaking; use chat and reactions to engage. We use whiteboards and screenβshare to demo FortiGate GUI/CLI. If you miss a session, watch the recording and attempt the lab before the next class. Β Session Recordings Recordings are uploaded to the LMS after each live class. Access is provided for the active course run (and a grace period as announced in the LMS). Recordings are for personal learning onlyβdo not share or repost. Β Quizzes & Exam Preparation (NSE 4) Weekly quizzes: short checks after modules (routing, policies/NAT, VPN, security profiles, logging/HA, etc.). Multiple attempts allowed; best score counts. Mock exams: timed, examβlike conditions with domain weighting aligned to NSE 4 FortiOS blueprints. Review sessions: we discuss tricky items, exam traps, and testβtaking strategy. Perform backups/upgrades, manage logs, and read session tables for troubleshooting.
